Help...(Almost) Nobody is reading my blog!

Hello!  Your next little job is to read my blog!  Next lesson, I want you to present on the following:

1.  A designer you admire -- Where are they from? What do they make?
2.  Explain why you like them (give reasons, not just ..."she's good")
3.  Explain WHY you think they are innovative
4.  What kind of style do they have? (Classic, bohemian, feminine..)
5.  What kind of materials do they use? Silk, cotton, leather, ..what?
6.  What colours do they favour?
7.  Have they been contraversial? Have they done anything that has upset people?

I am also interested in your comments on the design school presentation last week.

End of transmission

Looks interesting....

I can see that Mao has done something with you, but I understand that it is something to do with Australian painters.  Please, do not cut and paste!  This is called plagiarism, and our students don't plagiarise (they fail!)

Thursday, 5th of August

Hello everyone. On Monday, I'm going to get you to do a presentation on a designer that you admire. Personally, for men I like Hugo Boss, but for women I like Alannah Hill. (Do check out Alannah's website. I don't know the URL, but you can google it.) This doesn't have to be a clothing designer, furniture or any other designer is fine too.
I would also like to know what you thought about the trip to the design school yesterday. I thought it was very inspiring, and very interesting too, but I thought you all might have been a bit confused by all the i9nformation. Anyway, I'd like to know what you think.

Feedback. 4th of August

Had a look at one or two of the blogs that people have done for HOMEWORK (wow). Really good, lots of interesting information, and I'm really encouraged by this. So you have the first lesson of today to sort this out. My photo, which is probably quite familiar to those who come to class late, is actually a noh mask of a tengu. Noh is a type of Japanese theatre, and tengu are mythical winged Japanese creatures who are masters of the martial arts. Chinese people, you probably know them as the immortals!

Writing for the 3rd of August, 2010

You need to review a website, and evaluate their different features. This can be positive or negative. Also, please remember to use sub-headings!!! I will be commenting on your blogs when they're submitted. Good work everyone (so far, so good!)

Solution :)

The man was wrongly accused of murder, because the woman and her lover cut off her two fingers and buried them in the garden. Then they disappeared. The police looked for the woman, and found the fingers, and the husband was blamed for her murder. He spent 30 years in gaol for this crime. When he got out, he met her by chance and killed her. he could not be charged with murder again, because under the law you cannot be charged with the same crime twice (this is called double jeopardy).
